Water is one of the most critical resources for both life and industry. In the mining sector—particularly in regions rich in natural resources like Morowali, Sulawesi—managing water responsibly is not just an operational necessity, but a moral obligation. At PT Anugrah Neo Energy Materials (Neo Energy), we recognize the immense responsibility we carry to safeguard water ecosystems, ensure pollution prevention, and leave a lasting positive impact on the communities where we operate.

Neo Energy’s approach to water management starts with proactive pollution prevention. From exploration to processing, we adopt a zero-discharge philosophy where possible and enforce strict monitoring of water quality across all operational stages. Our goal is not only to comply with Indonesia’s environmental laws and international best practices but also to exceed them by investing in innovation and long-term sustainability.

A key component of our environmental management plan is closed-loop water systems. These systems are designed to reduce freshwater intake and prevent wastewater from being released untreated into surrounding rivers or streams. Instead, water is recycled, treated, and reused within our operations. This significantly minimizes the risk of acid mine drainage, heavy metal contamination, and other waterborne pollutants commonly associated with traditional mining practices.

Importantly, our long-term vision includes integrating renewable energy sources—such as hydropower and solar—to further reduce environmental impacts. By investing in clean energy and responsible water stewardship, Neo Energy seeks to set a new standard for environmentally sound nickel and battery material production in Indonesia.

A success story worth highlighting is from one of our partner contractors, PT Teknik Alum Service, which worked with local leaders in Buleleng Village to improve watershed protection through infrastructure development. These local collaborations show that with the right intention and consistent action, mining and environmental protection can coexist.

At Neo Energy, we believe that clean water is a right, not a privilege. Preventing water pollution isn’t just about regulation—it’s about respect. Respect for nature, for people, and for future generations. As we look ahead, our mission remains clear: to power a sustainable future, one clean drop at a time.
