Biography

Mr. Agoes Rianto Silaban is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience spanning a wide range of industries, including aviation, property development, trading, information technology, telecommunications, and shipping. He is recognized for his expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and overseeing complex, large-scale operations.

Mr. Silaban began his career in 1986 at the Technology Assessment & Application Agency (BPPT) in Jakarta, contributing to the Aviation Division. He simultaneously served in the Procurement Division of PT Industri Pesawat Terbang Nusantara (IPTN), Indonesia’s leading aircraft manufacturer, where he supported critical logistics and systems functions.

In 1989, he assumed the role of Managing Director at PT Polaris Sakti in Batam, leading the company’s property development initiatives until 2013. During this period, he also served as President Director of PT Mega Pratama Semesta, a trading firm he led from 1998 to 2016.

Expanding into the IT and telecommunications sectors, Mr. Silaban held the position of President Director at PT Gemilang Cipta Artha from 2002 to 2006. He further enhanced his international portfolio as Finance Director at Goodwill Carrier Asia Ltd. in Hong Kong, where he focused on mobile virtual network operations (MVNO) between 2004 and 2006.

From 2013 to 2021, he served as Independent Commissioner at PT Mitrabahtera Segara Sejati Tbk., a public-listed coal shipping company, where he chaired the Audit, Risk Compliance, and Human Capital Committees.

An active contributor to national industry bodies, Mr. Silaban served as Treasurer of HIPMI (2001–2004), Chairman of the Information Technology Committee at KADIN (2004–2008), and later as Vice President of KADIN (2008–2013). His broad experience across sectors continues to inform his impactful leadership and strategic insight.
