At Neo Energy, sustainability is not just a value, it’s a foundation of everything we do.

We recognize our critical role in powering the global energy transition through responsible production of nickel and new energy materials.

Environmental stewardship is essential to our long-term success, and we are fully committed to ensuring that all operations are aligned with Indonesia’s environmental laws and regulations.

ENERGY USAGE

As a mining company, energy consumption is a vital part of our daily operations. At Neo Energy’s mining site, diesel fuel powers our excavators, dump trucks, graders, generators, and bulldozers.

In FY2023, our average monthly diesel consumption reached 403,947 liters, up from 368,803 liters in FY2022. This increase aligns with our ramped-up production activities during the year.

Despite higher consumption, we improved our fuel efficiency:
Fuel intensity (liters per ton of production):

  • FY2023: 2.69 L/ton
  • FY2022: 3.64 L/ton
  • FY2021: 2.04 L/ton
  • FY2020: 2.26 L/ton
Our 3-Year Performance & Target

In FY2023, we successfully met our environmental target:

  • Zero harmful emissions
  • Zero operational spills

This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to safe, responsible, and environmentally conscious operations across all sites.

WASTE TREATMENT & MANAGEMENT POLICY

Neo Energy is committed to responsible waste management throughout the entire lifecycle of our operations, from project inception to closure. Our Waste Treatment & Management Policy is designed to minimize risks and environmental impact, especially from hazardous materials.

Our ESG framework covers:

  • Efficient energy use
  • Safe handling and reduction of B3 (hazardous and toxic) waste
  • 3R practices (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) for non-B3 waste
  • Emission reduction for pollutants and greenhouse gases
  • Water efficiency and wastewater load reduction
  • Biodiversity conservation
  • Community empowerment and sustainable practices

We strictly adhere to all Indonesian environmental regulations, including:

  • Ministry of Environment Regulation No. P.12/MENLHK/PLB.3/5/2020 on hazardous waste storage
  • Government Regulation No. 101 of 2014 on hazardous waste management
