In the midst of rapid urban development, access to quality education remains a challenge for many children. This reality is reflected in Amalia Community Reading Center (Taman Baca Amalia), a community-based reading space established in 2019 that has grown into a vital learning hub for children in South Tangerang. Recognizing the importance of inclusive education, Neo Energy proudly contributed books, educational toys, and children’s clothing to support the continued growth and impact of this inspiring initiative.
Taman Baca Amalia began as a small initiative serving only 10 to 20 children in its early days. However, as awareness and community participation increased, the space quickly evolved. Today, the reading garden supports more than 200 children, highlighting the significant need for accessible educational spaces in densely populated urban neighborhoods.
The initiative was founded to address limited access to informal learning resources for children living in the surrounding area. Beyond functioning as a reading space, Taman Baca Amalia has become a safe environment where children can learn, play, and develop social skills. It offers an alternative learning platform that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and confidence—values that are essential for children’s long-term development.
At Neo Energy, we believe that education is a cornerstone of sustainable development. As part of our social responsibility commitment, Neo Energy supported Taman Baca Amalia through the donation of books, educational toys, and children’s clothing. This contribution aims to enrich learning activities while also addressing the everyday needs of children who regularly visit the space.
