Transforming Energy with Sustainable Materials & Future-Forward Battery Solutions
A strong safety culture and sustainable mindset are not built solely within operational areas—they begin with education. In commemoration of National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month 2026, PT TAS organized TAS Goes To School at SMA Negeri 1 Bungku Pesisir, located in Desa Lafeu, on February 7, 2026. The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to introducing the mining industry to younger generations while instilling the importance of workplace safety from an early age.
According to Wawan, Human Capital Representative from Head Office Jakarta who attended as the company’s representative on site, the program was designed as both an educational and inspirational platform. “The main objective of this event is to provide students with a clear understanding of what mining is, how it operates, and how young generations can shape their future within this industry,” he explained.
The seminar targeted high school students and featured three speakers: Mirnawati as host, Supriadi Sayuti as Head of Engineering Department, and Editirza Sanampe from the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Department. The materials presented covered the mining life cycle as an integrated process based on structured planning and production operations, as well as responsible environmental management to ensure long-term sustainability.
Students were encouraged to see mining not merely as an extraction activity, but as a comprehensive ecosystem that involves careful planning, technological innovation, risk management, and a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship. Through an engaging and interactive approach, the speakers broadened students’ perspectives on various career opportunities within the mining sector—from engineering and environmental management to occupational safety and human capital development.
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) was a key focus throughout the seminar. Wawan emphasized that safety is a non-negotiable value within the industry.
“Safety is not negotiable, because life is not a bargaining tool. Therefore, stay focused and comply with every safety procedure, so we can return home safely and back into the arms of our beloved families,” said Wawan.
His message served as a powerful reminder that behind every operational activity lies a profound responsibility to ensure that every worker returns home safely.
Beyond education, TAS Goes To School also represents the company’s commitment to strengthening relationships with communities surrounding its operational areas. By engaging directly with students, PT TAS aims to foster a balanced and informed understanding of the mining industry while building trust and transparency.
Through initiatives like this, PT TAS demonstrates that industrial development must go hand in hand with human capital development. By introducing mining in a professional, transparent, and safety-driven manner, the company plays an active role in preparing a generation that is knowledgeable, safety-conscious, and ready to contribute to a more sustainable future for the industry.
